The key insight we had was to run numerous trials to unpick which specific behavioural effects make a difference. Prior to this regulators had just relied on first principles.
We worked with various Australian regulators to test whether or not specific ways of formatting energy bills can affect how people choose their energy provider.
Result & Impact
Our trials have directly affected Australian legislation. This requires energy retailers to helps consumers to make better decisions for themselves not the energy retailers.
