We’re launching two Behavioural Science Joint MRes/PhD scholarships

9th Mar 2018

We are pleased to announce the launch of the two Behavioural Science Joint MRes/PhD scholarships, a collaboration between the Behavioural Insights Team and University College London’s School of Management.

These five-year scholarships* will run from fall 2018. Appropriate topics can be from any area of behavioural science and public policy or public management, which fit well with the mutual interests of BIT and faculty at the UCL School of Management.

UCL SOM will cover tuition fees, and include an annual (tax-free) stipend of £18,500. Students will have workspaces at both the UCL SOM and at BIT, and thus will be expected conduct their research at both the UCL SOM’s Canary Wharf campus and at the offices of the Behavioural Insights Team, embedded within one of the relevant policy teams. Students will be supervised by UCL SOM faculty with a relevant research focus, and by Dr Michael Sanders at the Behavioural Insights Team. As a joint program, the supervision team will be decided upon by consensus by the Joint PhD directors (Dr Michael Sanders at BIT, Dr Chia-Jung Tsay at UCL SOM).

We are very excited to announce this programme, which we hope will create new behavioural insights and translate those insights into research, policy, and practice.

Prospective students should submit their CV, as well as a two page research proposal, to hannah.keating@bi.team, by 15 April 2018. Students should also complete all required steps for the application process for UCL, via the UCL Postgraduate Admissions System: PRISM.
