We’re recruiting in London and Manchester

The Behavioural Insights Team is looking for several Advisors and Senior Advisors to work on a number of projects with partners across different policy areas. These roles offer the opportunity to develop new solutions to some of the UK government’s most pressing challenges as well as aiding international governments and organisations to develop behaviourally informed policies.

The Health Team is recruiting a Senior Advisor and an Advisor who will focus on health and social care projects with partners that include NHS England, the Department of Health, local authorities and providers of social care. Previous work in this area has included reducing missed hospital appointments, preventing antimicrobial resistance, and improving the health of NHS staff. These roles would suit someone with an understanding of the behavioural science literature and experience of working with or within the UK health and/or social care system. The Productivity Team (Education, Skills, Consumers, Sustainability and Economic Growth) is looking for multiple Advisors. Previous work in the team has included applying behavioural insights to increasing adult numeracy and literacy rates, uptake of the UK government’s growth vouchers programme as well as exploring how behavioural insights can be applied in regulated consumer markets. While Advisors will be based in one of the policy areas, there will be opportunities to work across a range of projects within the Team. This could include a wide variety of projects such as exploring the impact of character / non-cognitive skill interventions in education, how to encourage businesses to export more or working with regulators to incorporate behavioural insights into regulations. Our recently opened Manchester Office is in the process of expanding its team and is looking for an Advisor to join on an initial one year fixed term contract with the possibility of an extension. BIT UK: North’s founding partner is the Greater Manchester Combined Authority and work in this area will include projects on health and social care, skills and education, organisation development and waste and recycling. The Home Affairs and Security Team is looking for a Senior Advisor who will work on projects including largescale field trials with police forces and other agencies that seek to reduce criminal behaviour such as cybercrime, exploitation and extremism. The team work closely with the Home Office, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Defence, and several Police forces. To apply, click here.

The International Programmes Team is looking for Research Advisors to design, conduct and evaluate Randomised Control Trials (RCTs) in a range of countries, primarily in Latin America and South East Asia. The role would also involve developing BIT’s growing econometric and data science function. Research Advisors would be expected to spend time in partner countries to understand the context, and particularly local sources of data in order to design and implement high quality trials.
