Our people

Director: Tom McBride

Tom McBride leads the Ending Youth Violence Lab, a new initiative dedicated to building the pipeline of high-quality interventions to support vulnerable children which could progress to large-scale impact evaluation. Tom has over 15 years of experience in research and evaluation roles. He is the former Director of Evidence at the Early Intervention Foundation and Head of Strategic Analysis at the Department for Education

Assistant Director: Jack Martin

Jack is Assistant Director within the Ending Youth Violence Lab and has over 9 years of experience working at the Early Intervention Foundation and sits on the Government’s Trials Advice Panel.

Contributing Researchers

Lilli Wagstaff

Lilli is a contributing researcher at the Lab, and a Research Advisor in the Behavioural Insights Team’s Home Affairs and International Programmes team.  Lilli leads the evaluation of a number of projects with different police forces and government agencies on reducing violence and recidivism. Additionally, Lilli also works as the research lead on a range of international projects, including completing a number of projects with the French government. Lilli also spent 9 months helping set up BIT’s Washington D.C. office where she worked on projects ranging from reducing public bus driver victimisation and increasing code compliance.

Niall Daly

Niall is a contributing researcher at the Lab, and a Research Advisor in the Behavioural Insights Team’s Health team, specialising in trial design, implementation, and quantitative data analysis across a wide range of projects within the health space. He has experience working with the NHS and other domestic partners, as well as with partners in several other countries to design, implement, and analyse behaviourally informed interventions to improve childhood vaccination rates.

Neeraj Rahal

Neeraj is a contributing researcher at the Lab, and an Advisor in the Behavioural Insights Team’s Home Affairs and Social Cohesion team. Prior to joining BIT, Neeraj was a forensic psychologist in training with HM Prison and Probation Services, carrying out psychological risk assessments, and providing advice to parole boards and other stakeholders. Additionally, he has also worked as a consultant assisting client organisations deal with issues of money-laundering, fraud, bribery, and corruption.

Alice Worsley

Alice is a contributing researcher at the Lab, and an Associate Advisor in the Behavioural Insights Team’s Health and Wellbeing team. She has worked across a range of policy areas including nutrition, smoking, and preventing youth violence.
