AI has the potential to improve how people navigate and access essential services. It can be used for simple things like reminding residents when their recycling collection is due, or play a role in tackling big challenges like how we prevent crime, treat illness or support vulnerable people.
But do people want AI in public services? Would the public trust information delivered by an AI tool? Can these tools actually help people get what they need? At BIT, we are leading research to answer fundamental questions like these, and designing and evaluating interventions that will shape the future of AI governance.
