Build Back Better – Back to school in a pandemic

COVID-19 has brought unprecedented challenges to the education system – with widespread nursery, school and university closures. Engagement with remote learning has been lower than with in-person education, particularly for disadvantaged school pupils, and immediate action is needed to help learners catch up. However, this period of disruption has also created unique opportunities for positive evolutions to the education system.

This session brings together policy experts and practitioners to explore how learning has been disrupted by the pandemic and how education providers can address challenges and capitalise on opportunities for positive change.

Panelists:
Jonathan Kay – Education Endowment Foundation
Natalie Perea – Education Policy Institute
Raj Chande – The Behavioural Insights Team & Mossbourne Academy
Anna Bird – The Behavioural Insights Team
