Andy is a Senior Advisor in BIT: North, based in Manchester. BIT: North works closely with the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA), the Greater Manchester NHS and places across the North of England. Andy specialises in applying behavioural science to local public services and leads projects in a broad range of areas, including early years, children’s services, health and social care, economic development and skills.
Andy joined the team in 2015, and before joining BIT: North he worked in the Behavioural Research Centre for Adults Skills and Knowledge (ASK). He led trials supporting adult learners to engage with community literacy and numeracy courses and also co-authored Moments of Choice, a report exploring how young people take decisions about their future. Prior to joining BIT, Andy was Senior Policy Officer at the Society of Local Authority Chief Executives (Solace). He studied Mathematics and Philosophy at the University of Bristol.
