Matthew Smith

Matt is Group Lead for Knowledge, Learning and Development at BIT and Nesta. In this role Matt develops helps BIT’s staff learn the key capabilities and ensure critical knowledge flows to the right people at the right time. Before joining BIT, Matt spent 12 years as a middle school assistant principal. In that role, he focused on school culture, supporting students’ social and emotional needs through restorative discipline practices and targeted behavioural interventions.

Matt holds a master’s in Educational Leadership from the University of Southern Maine and a PGCE and BSc in Biology from the University of Nottingham.
