BIT has appointed Maddy Phipps-Taylor as UK managing director. Maddy brings enormous expertise in public policy innovation and organisational change, developed through her experience in consulting, government policy, academia, a UK regulator and as a business leader.
She brings particular insight into the health sector – from her time in the UK government’s central policy unit, advising the prime minister on health, social care and life sciences, to building a strategy function in the UK Care Quality Commission, to running technology companies providing software to health services.
Rachel Coyle, global managing director at BIT, said: “We’re really excited to have Maddy join us. Our partners will be blown away by her ability to get to the heart of a problem, her creativity and vision in developing new solutions, and her proven track record of helping organisations turn great ideas into reality. And more than anything, her clear passion for driving positive social change makes her the perfect fit for BIT.”
Maddy has a Masters of Engineering from Oxford University and was a Harkness Fellow in Healthcare Policy & Practice at UC Berkeley’s School of Public Health. She is an advisor to the Zinc incubator for impact entrepreneurs and a mentor at the On Purpose career development programme for social impact professionals.
Maddy will join BIT in April 2025.
