How to reduce food waste using three low-cost nudges

In 2022, BIT worked with Ne'ma, the UAE's National Food Waste and Loss Initiative, to test three nudges to reduce food waste in hotel restaurants. The results were stunning: the nudges reduced food waste by up to 44% without affecting customer satisfaction.

New Results: Reducing food waste in the UAE's cafeterias

Ne'ma, UAE's National Food Loss and Waste Initiative (a collaboration of UAE's Ministry of Climate Change and Environment and the Emirates Foundation) asked BIT to build a picture of the behaviours driving the UAE’s food waste problem.
