Unlike other addictions, getting help for problems tied to gambling is not clear cut. We ran a survey finding that 41% of people were not confident that they knew how best to obtain gambling-related support. Many also perceive gambling to be highly stigmatised, and are less likely to seek help as a result.
We will work alongside gambling-related treatment and support providers to improve access to their services and investigate accessibility for different target groups. Throughout this programme, we aim to provide direct guidance to providers and develop a bank of evidence for what works. All providers will be able to draw from this resource and implement strategies to help get their services to those who need them most.
