The RCT monster: how to train your dragon

Field RCTs to assess the impact of behavioural interventions are having a renaissance in public policy, but there remain logistical, ethical and acceptability challenges in using them to find effective policy solutions. This session explores reflections and responses to those challenges as well as cutting edge alternatives facilitated by new technology.

Kirby Swales of the Local Government Policy & Troubled Families Directorate, Camilla Nevill of the Education Endowment Foundation, Dr Alex Sutherland, Dr Matthew Barnard and Dr Janna Ter Meer of BIT try to train the RCT dragon at BX2019.
