Challenge
In England, 1 in 20 GP practices is rated ‘inadequate’ or ‘requires improvement’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Approach
We used publicly available data from the CQC and the Office for National Statistics to help predict inspection ratings and so enable more accurate targeting of inspections.
Result & Impact
Using data science to identify specific practices meant that 95 per cent of inadequate performance could be found by inspecting 20 per cent of GPs.
