Challenge

Many labour market policies exist to help jobseekers. However, they often focus on compliance rather than support. We wanted to change this.

Insight

The old system asked people what they had done to find work. These actions were fixed in the past. We changed the system to focus on the future, encouraging a more supportive conversation.

Approach

We spent three months working in Jobcentres to co-design ways in which the experience in Jobcentres could support people to find work.

Result & Impact

We ran two trials which found that our new tools were effective. These were then scaled across the UK, helping millions of jobseekers.
