Careers advice can give people the confidence and information they need to find work. However, a quarter of people who sign up to receive advice fail to attend their appointment.

Insight

Self-efficacy refers to how well someone takes the actions required to deal with specific situations. Tapping into people’s sense of self-efficacy can help them believe more in their ability to achieve their job goals.

Approach

We sent an appointment reminder with the reassuring message ‘No one is born with a perfect career. Time and effort can boost your skills.’

Result & Impact

The number of missed appointments fell by 24 per cent.
