Baroness Liz Sugg
Liz Sugg is a non-executive director of BIT. She entered the UK Parliament in 2016 as a life peer in the House of Lords and from October 2017 to April 2019 was Under-Secretary of State for Aviation. She was subsequently appointed Under-Secretary of State for Overseas Territories and Sustainable Development but resigned from this role in November 2020 in response to cuts in UK development aid funding. She is now a member of the House of Lords International Affairs and Defence Select Committee.
Prior to entering Parliament Baroness Sugg was Head of Operations for then UK Prime Minister David Cameron. She continues to be interested in international development, particularly in education, gender equality and sexual and reproductive rights, and is the chair of a international health foundation, Malaria No More UK.
