Theresa Marteau

Director of the Behaviour and Health Research Unit in the University of Cambridge

Theresa is Director of the Behaviour and Health Research Unit in the University of Cambridge Department of Public Health and Primary Care, and Fellow and Director of Studies in Psychological and Behavioural Sciences at Christ’s College, Cambridge.

Her research focuses on:

i. design and evaluation of interventions to change behaviour (principally diet, physical activity, tobacco and alcohol consumption) to improve population health, particularly interventions targeting non-conscious processes
ii. risk communication, particular using biomarkers, and its failure to change behaviour
iii. acceptability to publics and policy-makers of interventions to change behaviour across populations.

She has been a member of the Academic Advisory Board for BIT since its inception.
