Ed Flahavan

Director, Home Affairs, Security and Education

Ed is a director leading our teams applying behavioural science to education, justice and policing, and security and defence. His role involves managing research projects with central government departments and other partners. Since joining BIT in 2016 he has held a number of roles including working as Policy Advisory to BIT’s CEO, David Halpern along with a secondment to the Cabinet Office’s Economic and Domestic Affairs Secretariat and as a researcher in BIT’s Health team.

Before joining BIT, Ed worked as a macroeconomic analyst at a financial research firm and in the consumer goods industry. Ed holds an MSc in Behavioural and Economic Science from the University of Warwick and a BA in Philosophy, Politics, Economics and Sociology from Trinity College Dublin.
