Evaluating the Nest Learning Thermostat

Consumers often fail to set the most efficient schedules on their heating controls, leading to wasted energy and money. Smart heating controls employing sensors and machine learning algorithms may offer an attractive solution, and are therefore of key policy interest to the UK government. However, there is currently a lack of robust UK-specific evidence of their energy saving potential. To fill this evidence gap we present the results of four studies evaluating the Nest Learning Thermostat.
