
Dr Vera Newman
Senior Research Advisor
Vera is a Senior Research Advisor working within the research team in our Sydney office. Vera has experience leading projects across health, education, wellbeing, and gender and diversity policy areas, and brings expertise in delivering work in collaboration with stakeholders to the team. Vera has also undertaken numerous projects working with vulnerable populations, and on research that pertains to sensitive topics. In addition, Vera provides research oversight on various research methodologies, including research incorporating qualitative and quantitative data, textual analyses, and experiential research.
Vera joined the Behavioural Insights Team after completing a PhD in psychology at the University of New South Wales, Sydney. Her research focused on the use of emotion regulation strategies to protect cognitive performance in the face of stress. Prior to joining the team Vera worked in public policy, partnering with local councils and not-for-profit clients in citizen engagement and program evaluation.
