Martin Sweeney

Advisor

Martin is a Senior Research Advisor on the Research and Evaluation team, where he provides analysis and oversight for evaluation projects that require advanced research support. Examples of Martin’s work include providing Ofgem with trial design and analysis support for their first large-scale randomised controlled trial, managing a field trial testing new electoral communications with the Electoral Commission, and supporting TEST + Build, a BIT Venture that helps organisations design and test their own behavioural interventions. He is currently managing a pair of evaluations with the Widening Participation Department of King’s College London.
Before joining the London team in 2016, Martin was part of BIT North America where he designed and analysed low-cost evaluations in six US cities through the What Works Cities initiative. Prior to joining BIT, Martin was as a Research Analyst at Innovations for Poverty Action, where he managed and analysed data for a number of randomised controlled trials in international development on topics related to microcredit, health, agriculture, and social protection. Martin holds a BA with honours from Middlebury College with majors in Economics and Environmental Studies.
